One of my databases is not starting up automatically on reboot. I am running 8i on SUN Solaris 8. I have looked at the /var/opt/oracle/oratab file and it looks good. Any suggestions on where to begin trouble shooting? The listener did not come up either.

What kind of start scripts are you using? Are you able to start up that particular database manually? possible paste the start script in your reply.

You have to create your own scripts to do that and place them in the /etc/rc.d directories.

Take a look at such scripts and their implementation. If you have any promlems, let me know.

How to start oracle while solaris reboot ??, Which files to edit ??

Hope that helps,
