Hi,

I have a problem with the sqlnet.ora file. I changed the parameter below as per some instructions to get something working: -

SQLNET.AUTHENTICATION_SERVICES = (NTS)
I changed the parameter to (NONE). This was to get an external piece of software to communicate with Oracle. After doing this, my overnight scripts to bring down the database fails with the following message: -

ORA-01017: invalid username/password; logon denied

This message comes after entering the following command

connect internal/manager

I thought that this was standard too?

Please can somebody help?!?!? I would be interested to find out what these parameters all mean too.... if anybody can point me to a relevant page I would be so grateful.

Thanks in advance,
Dominic
